   we have some confusion, what is the difference between L3 switches and Layer 3 switches.

yes , up to some extent both are same

Normal switch is Layer 2 and multilayer you normally refer to L3 capable switch that can route .

However now a days all switches are pretty much multilayer switches

I hope it is clear ,.

Normally switches work only on Layer 2 which handle with mac address.. And Router work on Layer 3 which handle IP address routing. but now a days Modern switches also can work on Layer 3 and layer 2
